Janis Joplin with Brad Campbell: Piece of My Heart Live (1969)

Don’t you love it when you stumble upon an old favorite song, and the bass player is just killing it? Here’s Brad Campbell with Janis Joplin laying down some melodic and groovy bass lines while the icon does her thing. Ya dig?

In his time with No Treble, Kevin has met hundreds of amazing bassists and interviewed icons like Jack Casady, Victor Wooten, Les Claypool, Marcus Miller, and more. He's a gigging bassist performing jazz in Northern Virginia and bluegrass with The Plate Scrapers up and down the East Coast. This must be the Full Tilt Boogie Band…They were far more capable than Big Brother and the Holding Company!!

Enjoyed the bass part, but just too rushed. Guess it’s hard to pull it back live. Disagree about FTB, thought they were too slick; BB was much more of a real band.

  2. I think Big brother take the win! this is just not right to me.
