NYC Ska Orchestra: Mood Indigo

I just got back from spending the week at the International Society of Bassists convention, and it was a double bass heaven. One of the many great bass players I got to see was Paul Nowinski, who spent years playing with Les Paul and is featured on the latest Keith Richards album.

He shared this cool video of himself playing with the NYC Ska Orchestra on a cool reggae version of Duke Ellington’s “Mood Indigo.” Nowinski drives the band with a solid bass line on the upright that will get stuck in your head.

In his time with No Treble, Kevin has met hundreds of amazing bassists and interviewed icons like Jack Casady, Victor Wooten, Les Claypool, Marcus Miller, and more. He's a gigging bassist performing jazz in Northern Virginia and bluegrass with The Plate Scrapers up and down the East Coast. Kevin appreciates all genres of music, from R&B to metal and everything in between. Connect with Kevin on Facebook and check his performance schedule on his website.
