Bloodstone: Natural High, 1973

Now we’re going to slow things down a bit. I’ve been on a classic soul and R&B kick lately and this song has been on repeat. Bloodstone’s “Natural High” is one of the smoothest love ballads I’ve ever heard.

Although the band appears to be playing along to their own recording in this video, Charles McCormick’s playing on the track offers a lush pad to support the band’s rich harmonies.

In his time with No Treble, Kevin has met hundreds of amazing bassists and interviewed icons like Jack Casady, Victor Wooten, Les Claypool, Marcus Miller, and more. He's a gigging bassist performing jazz in Northern Virginia and bluegrass with The Plate Scrapers up and down the East Coast. Kevin appreciates all genres of music, from R&B to metal and everything in between. Connect with Kevin on Facebook and check his performance schedule on his website.
