Rob McConnell: Dr. Mario “Chill” Theme

If you ever played Dr. Mario, you know the music can get stuck in your head for a long time. Papadosio’s Rob McConnell has spent part of his downtime this month making this cool playalong with the “Chill” theme from the classic Nintendo game.

McConnell gets an awesome tone to match the 8-bit song. He writes that his signal chain included a Fender Mexican P bass into a Meris Enzo, then into a Darkglass Vintage Microtubes and Darkglass Compressor. His interface is the UAD Apollo.

In his time with No Treble, Kevin has met hundreds of amazing bassists and interviewed icons like Jack Casady, Victor Wooten, Les Claypool, Marcus Miller, and more. He's a gigging bassist performing jazz in Northern Virginia and bluegrass with The Plate Scrapers up and down the East Coast. Kevin appreciates all genres of music, from R&B to metal and everything in between. Connect with Kevin on Facebook and check his performance schedule on his website.
