New Power Generation Announces Fall Tour

After being forced to postpone their spring tour due to COVID-19, the New Power Generation has announced a U.S. tour for the fall. The band, which formerly backed Prince, recognized that it’s a “crazy time” to be announcing it, but that they’re committed and hopeful.
“Most of you don’t know that we were just days away from announcing a U.S. Spring tour right about the time the Covid-19 pandemic was sneaking up on the U.S.,” they wrote. “At that point, most industry professionals were saying to proceed but more than anything, we want all of you – and we want us and our crew – to be safe. So, we rescheduled, will let things unfold and hope for the best. The NPG website will be updated this week with more ticket links – as we receive them from the booking agency – and we’ll be announcing more dates as soon as the promoters give us the green light.”
The New Power Generation is anchored by Sonny Thompson, aka Sonny T., who was a member of the group from 1991 to 1996 and played on the albums Diamonds and Pearls and Love Symbol, among others.
