Ernie Ball Music Man Announces Two Basses in December’s Ball Family Reserve

Ernie Ball Music Man BFR Stingray Special - Passive Bass

Ernie Ball Music Man has unveiled their December lineup for the Ball Family Reserve series, which includes two takes on the Stingray Special. First up is the Stingray Special 5 in a Kinetic Blue finish. The active bass sports a single humbucker, rear-mounted electronics, and an ebony fretboard. This model is reserved to just 85 pieces worldwide.

Second is the Stingray Special – Passive, which comes in a natural finish over its okoume body. “Featuring the same electronics package as the popular short-scale StingRay, this limited edition 34″ scale bass includes a push/push volume boost and 3 position rotary pickup switch,” the company writes. They also up the beauty factor with a roasted flame maple neck. It’s limited to 80 pieces in the world.

The Ernie Ball Music Man BFR Stingray Special 5 and Stingray Special – Passive are available now with prices of $2,799 and $2,499.
