Bass of the Week: Mayones Guitars Caledonius Classic 5 Custom

This week we’re checking out a spectacular Caledonius Classic 5 Custom from Poland’s Mayones Guitars. The elegant neck-through five-string is brought to life with a five-piece wenge and purpleheart neck and swamp ash body wings. Its top is a stunning piece of Eye Poplar in a transparent three-tone sunburst.
For electronics, Mayones opted for a pair of Aguilar pickups: an AG 5SD-D2 Super Double in the bridge position and an AG 5SS-D2 Super Single in the neck position. The pickups feed into a Mayones M-BP3 preamp with an active/passive switch as well as a mid-frequency switch. Finally, the Mayones X25 Bridge and Schaller M4 tuners hold things together.
