Breedlove Guitars Unveils Eco-Friendly Fretted and Fretless Acoustic Bass Guitars

Breedlove Guitars has unveiled the ECO Pursuit series, including the Pursuit Exotic S Concerto Amber Bass CE, which comes in fretted and fretless versions. The ECO Series boasts three layers of tonewood that were sustainably harvested.
“With EcoTonewood, Breedlove makes laminate technology sustainable, introducing a resonant core tonewood layer of clear-cut free, individually harvested African mahogany in place of the typical tone-robbing softwoods used in standard acoustic guitar manufacture,” the company writes. “Coupled with Breedlove’s deep research into revolutionary body shapes; building to target tonewood weight adds to the optimized, natural sound of each guitar in the ECO Collection. And, Breedlove creates these better sounding laminate guitars while being kind to the earth while maintaining an accessible, entry-level price-point.”
The Breedlove ECO Pursuit Exotic S Concerto Bass CE has an African Mahogany neck, myrtlewood body, and an ovangkol fingerboard. Both the fretless and fretted models are fitted with a Fishman Presys I system, closed gear tuners, and tortoise fretboard binding.
The Breedlove Pursuit Exotic S Concerto Amber Bass CE and Pursuit Exotic S Concerto Amber Fretless Bass CE are coming soon with a street price of $749.
