Bass of the Week: Lowe Custom Guitars Ridlersonic

This week we’re checking out a cool bass by Lowe Custom Guitars that combines two of luthier Brad Lowe’s designs.
“This bass came about as a unique collaboration with one of my long-time clients, Aaron Akers of Four Star Riot,” Lowe told us. “The original plan was for this neck to be mated to a Chromasonic body, but along the way, Aaron decided he’d prefer a Ridler body instead. The result is the world’s only ‘Ridlersonic.’”
Its cool shapes are matched by a shocking greenburst finish over its roasted ash body. The green theme continues in the pearloid blocks and binding on its maple neck and fretboard. Lowe fitted the bass with Hipshot lollipop tuners and custom Lowe by Hipshot hardware, including the bridge, pickup rings, and control plate. Finally, the bass is fitted with a pair of TV Jones Thunder’Blade pickups.
