Janek Gwizdala Publishes “Bass Player’s Guide to Altered Chords & Scales”

Janek Gwizdala: Bass Player’s Guide to Altered Chords & ScalesJanek Gwizdala has released another instructional book for bassists, this time focusing on altered harmony. Bass Player’s Guide to Altered Chords & Scales is, in fact, more than a book. It includes 60 backing tracks and 100 videos to explain all the concepts.

“Harmony, especially in jazz, is one of my big passions in life, and it gives me great pleasure to be able to share it with you like this,” Gwizdala writes. “From the very basics of how to access the altered scale, all the way up to pairing triads and soloing over brand new changes without having to think about it, there is something in this new book for every bass player.“

All of the examples are written in both notation and bass TAB. Aside from exercises, the book has a vocabulary library with 60 unique altered lines to build your altered language.

Bass Player’s Guide to Altered Chords & Scales is available now in paperback and digital formats.
