Dave Holland and Pepe Habichuela Release “Hands”
Jazz master Dave Holland has collaborated with flamenco guitarist Pepe Habichuela to release a Gypsy-flavored album, Hands.
Habichuela, who has been on the scene since the ’80s and even worked with Jaco Pastorius, also recruited his sidemen and son, Josemi, for the project.
Hands features tons of Gypsy rhythms as well as jazz influence, especially on the Holland tunes, “The Whirling Dervish” and “Joyride”.
The album has been released in the UK, and the import copy will be available in the US on July 13.
