Stu Hamm Announces New Album, “Hold Fast”

Stu Hamm

Bass icon Stu Hamm has announced a new solo album and he’s asking for fans to help make it happen. Hold Fast is set to be the most prog-rock material the bassist has ever written or released, he says. Hamm recorded it with Alex Skolnick, Gergo Borlai, Randy McStine, and Joel Taylor with special guest appearances by fellow bassist Bubby Lewis, pedal steel player Andrea Whitt, keyboardist Steve Ferlazzo, and percussionist Greg Ellis.

“The music and performances are transcendent, with up front bass playing, soaring soloists, great songwriting and and amazing tones, thank to the engineering/mixing by Javier Reyes (Animals As Leaders), my Co-Captain for this musical adventure!” Hamm writes. “With YOUR HELP, I will be able to get this music mastered and ready for release.”

An IndieGoGo campaign for the project was launched for fans to give funds to the project. Backing rewards include digital downloads, signed physical CDs, getting your name in the credits, online bass lessons, a private solo bass concert, and more.

“This project is SO CLOSE to being done,” Hamm concludes. “Let’s cheer it on! Let’s get this done so that I can get this music to YOU, and ready for this Falls tour with Greg Howe, and my Estonian Bass Oasis!”
