Ampeg Unveils the Venture Series Bass Amps and Cabinets

Ampeg has launched a new line of amps and cabs focused on modern style and features. The Venture Series includes three heads – the V3, V7, and V12 – and five cabs: the VB-112, VB-115, VB-210, VB-212, and VB-410.

“Venture Series amps feature easy-to-use controls and extensive tone-shaping tools that enable bassists to quickly get the sounds they need—from classic to cutting edge,” the company shares. “Venture Series cabs are available in the most popular configurations, so players can easily choose the right cab, or combination of cabs, for any gig.”

The heads start with the 300-watt Venture V3, which is the smallest and lightest of the three amps at just under four pounds. Its preamp features the Legacy preamp with a three-band EQ complete with sweepable mid frequencies. It also has Ultra Hi and Ultra Lo switches for more general shaping. A footswitchable SGT Overdrive circuit opens up the amp’s tonal palette with a switch to toggle the voicing between SVT and B15 sounds. The rear panel has an XLR DI, an aux-in, an effects loop, and a headphone output.

The 700-watt V7 and 1200-watt V12 share many of the same features but add a variable compressor to the feature set. Aside from adding a second speaker output, they also have jacks for preamp out and power amp input.

The cab series ranges from the 250-watt VB-112, which weighs in at 26.5 pounds, all the way up to the 600-watt VB-410, which comes in at 42 pounds. Each cab is loaded with custom-voiced Lavoce neodymium woofers and a variable high-frequency driver.

The Ampeg Venture Series models are available now, except the V7, which will be shipping in the spring.
