Tom Kennedy and the Mike Stern Band
Over the weekend, I got the chance to catch the Mike Stern Band at Blues Alley in Washington, DC.
The line-up included Stern on guitar, Tom Kennedy on bass, Bob Franceschini on sax, and Dave Weckl on drums, which is the same group appearing on the recently released New Morning: The Paris Concert DVD.
Even Dennis Chambers was in the audience!
This was the first time I caught Tom Kennedy live, and I was blown away. You can tell he and Weckl play together a lot, and the band was having a blast.
After the show, I had the chance to chat with Tom, who is as friendly as he is talented. He even accepted a No Treble t-shirt I brought for him, which was the perfect end to the night.
