Focusrite Introduces Scarlett 2i4 Audio Interface

Focusrite has a new USB audio interface dubbed the Scarlett 2i4. Featuring two inputs and four outputs, the 2i4 is housed in an anodized aluminum unibody chassis. The two combo XLR inputs allow for plugging in your bass, guitar, or microphone. Each input’s gain knob has a signal halo around it that changes color to inform you about your signal. Green means you’re at a good level and red indicates clipping and that you need to turn down. A pad switch for hotter signals also comes in handy.
The interface has MIDI in and out for keyboards and other midi controllers. Other features include a direct monitor function, a dynamic range of 105dB, and 96kHz/24-bit conversion.
The Scarlett 2i4 ships with Ableton Live Lite 8, Focusrite’s Scarlett plug-in suite, Novation’s Bass Station, and Loopmasters content. It will be available in October with a street price of $199.99. For more info, check out the Focusrite website.

Seems very similar to Roland UA55 in its features (except the auto-sens system, a nice bonus on the Roland’s), wich I really appreciate. And maybe the headphone volume control is cooler than roland’s one (quadcapture’s achille’s heel IMO, but you can live with that in a home use). And… Focusrite, what else…
Your dead right about achilles heel. It’s such an excellent interface otherwise. Excellent drvers on the Roland one too. But here with FR, you should be able to monitor on your headphones without sending the same signal to the monitors I assume?
Yep I guess so ! and yes the Roland is a cool interface, very clean, nice headroom and preamps for that price and kind of use.
