Seymour Duncan Introduces SPB-4 Steve Harris Signature Pickup
Iron Maiden’s Steve Harris has a new signature P-Bass pickup from Seymour Duncan called the SPB-4 Steve Harris Model. The new split single coil is the production version of the custom shop pickups Harris has been using for the last 10 years.
The SPB-4 utilizes Alnico 5 rod magnets and a vintage-hot coil wind to produce what the company describes as “forceful sound” with pushed midrange and tight bass and treble. For getting Harris’s sound, Seymour Duncan suggests using the pickups in a bass with an alder body and maple neck, though they say ash bodies and rosewood fretboards will still offer a fierce tone.
The Seymour Duncan SPB-4 Steve Harris Signature P-Bass pickup ships with a standard two-wire P-Bass setup and is available now with a street price of $79.95. For more info, check out the Seymour Duncan website.
