Asia Release Live CD/DVD Set Featuring the Late John Wetton
Asia has released a 2-CD/DVD live set called Symfonia – Live In Bulgaria 2013. The release captures the band in a concert at a second-century Roman theater in Plovdiv, Bulgaria with the Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra. It also features the lineup of original Asia members John Wetton, Carl Palmer and Geoff Downes with guitarist Sam Coulson.
After Wetton passed away two months ago, the band decided to dedicated it to the late bassist. “While certainly not the intention when it was originally scheduled, in light of John Wetton’s recent passing, this release serves as a tribute to the late, great, legendary bassist and frontman, who passed away this January following a battle with cancer. R.I.P. John Wetton, it truly was an ‘Extraordinary Life’ you led. Thanks for all the music!”
