Eastwood Guitars Announces Modern Version of Klira Beatle Bass

Eastwood Guitars Klira Beatle Bass

Eastwood Guitars is reviving another unique vintage bass through their custom shop. The Klira Beatle Bass was a take on the Hofner bass made famous by Paul McCartney.

“Through the 1960’s there were many variants of the popular Hofner Beatle Bass coming out of Japan and around the world,” Eastwood writes. “Our favorite was this Klira version – made in Germany just down the road from Hofner – simply because of its elegant F-Holes.”

The new version will be built with a bound maple body with bound f-holes, a set maple neck, and a blackwood fingerboard complete with dot inlay fret markers. Similar to the old school instruments, it will have a short 30-inch scale. Other features include a floating bridge, a trapeze nickel tailpiece, nickel tuners, and staple nickel pickups.

As part of the Eastwood Custom Shop’s crowd-funding platform, the Klira Beatle Bass is available for pre-order and will go into production once their goal of $1,200 is met. The deposit is $150 with a final price of $599, which includes a gig bag.
