Alfredo Rodriguez Trio: Ay Mama Ines
I love it when Panagiotis Andreou checks in with us, because he’s bound to have something incredible to share. After he sent his last email, I watched this video three times in a row.
“I’ve been touring a lot with various projects and the following is a video from Quincy Jones birthday celebration playing with Alfredo Rodriguez trio,” Andreou shared.
The song “Ay Mama Ines” is a standard of Cuban music. The bassist is a Timba master and it shows in this clip. He leads the vocal chorus before jumping into an ear-bending solo that calls upon his world music influences. You have to hear it to believe it.
