Eastwood Guitars Unveils The Vintage-Inspired Sidejack Pro JM Bass

Eastwood Guitars has introduced the first bass to their Sidejack Pro Series with the Pro JM Bass. The instrument is a take on a vintage design that’s been updated in the playability department.
“Our tribute to the original Mosrite Joe Maphis model, it follows the Sidejack Pro model in staying true to the original Mosrite aesthetics, but with our chunkier (F-style) C-profiled neck to make you feel instantly at home,” Eastwood writes. They also note that many players lust for a vintage Mosrite, but find them unfamiliar in their hands due to super skinny frets, a flat fretboard, and an ultra narrow neck. “The Sidejack Pro JM merges Mosrite-influenced detailing with Fender©-style playability,” they say.
Eastwood builds the short scale bass with a tone-chambered alder body featuring a German carve top as well as a bound maple neck and pau ferro fingerboard. The pickups are a pair of “Eastwood of Canada” custom M-90’s that are selected with a three-way switch. Other features include 20 medium jumbo frets, a mid “C”-shape neck profile, and a custom bridge.
The Eastwood Sidejack Pro JM Bass is available now for $999.
