BITE Guitars Launches with Configurable Bass Models

BITE Guitars Jawbone JJ Red Bass

BITE Guitars is a new startup manufacturing company based in Austria that focuses on building individualized basses with what they call “guitar building 4.0.”

“This highly digitalized manufacturing method allows for high-quality individualization with short lead times,” they write, adding that their online configurator offers over one billion custom configurations all priced under $1,100.

The configurator allows you to choose your base model with either the P-styled Punch or the J-styled Jawbone, each of which is built with alder. The neck is hard maple neck and can be fitted with a maple or black locust fingerboard with block or dot inlays. Other features include BITE’s proprietary pickups that generate a record 1,000 millivolt output with pure passive technology. “So what exactly does that mean? – BITE Custom Basses are really loud,” they explain.”

You can hear the basses in action in these demos by Thomas Milacher:

Configurator choices also include body art ornaments, pickguard choices, a Gotoh bridge, individual pickup positioning, and easy-to-modify solderless wiring.

BITE Guitars are available for order now with a 2-week turnaround. The prices begin around $960 for the Punch Bass and $975 for the Jawbone JJ.
