Jackson Introduces X Series Spectra Basses

Jackson Guitars X Series Spectra Bass SBX IV Front

Jackson is expanding its Spectra line of basses this year with three new X Series models: the X Series Spectra Bass SBX IV, the X Series Spectra Bass SBXM IV, and the X Series Spectra Bass SBX V. Each of the basses has a modern style and new body shape.

“The offset body style of these models was innovatively designed with a larger upper horn that evenly distributes weight throughout the instrument for perfect balance and playing comfort,” Jackson explains. “The graphite-reinforced through-body maple neck with scarf joint creates formidable sustain, with a speed neck contour, 12”-16” compound radius fingerboard and 24 frets for superior playability.”

Each bass is fitted with a pair of passive medium-output humbucking pickups with a two-way toggle switch for pickup coil splitting. They also come loaded with a three-band EQ, blend control, and push/pull volume knob for active and passive modes.

The models are differentiated in configuration, as the SBX IV is a four-string with a laurel fingerboard and the SBXM IV has a maple board. The SBX V is a five-string with a laurel fingerboard. Each model has its own color combinations.

The Jackson X Series Spectra basses will be available soon with estimated street prices of $499, $529, and $599.
