Yamaha Announces Limited Edition Peter Hook Signature Bass

Yamaha BBPH Peter Hook Signature Bass

Yamaha has introduced a new model to their Signature Series of basses with the Peter Hook Signature BB Bass. The former Joy Division/New Order bassist worked with the company to combine aspects of his favorite BB1200S bass and the BB734A that he currently plays with his band, The Light.

“It’s such a compliment to be recognized for what you’ve done and to have it come full circle and culminate with my own signature bass — made to my specs and to satisfy my playing — is such an honor, and I’m very happy with it,” said Hook. “I’m very proud to have worked with Yamaha to develop the BBPH and I think it’s one of the best guitars in the world if I do say so myself!”

The bass’s body is constructed with a maple core with an alder top and back. Its red finish is inspired by Hook’s original BB1200S. Other unique features include a reversed VSP7n pickup with an active/passive 3-band EQ, a six-bolt miter neck joint, and an autographed headstock.

Listen to Hook talk about his style and his new bass:

The Yamaha BBPH Peter Hook Signature Bass is limited to just 14 basses in the United States. It carries an MSRP of $2,000.
