Bass of the Week: Kriz Lenz Ikejima Four Fretless

Kriz Lenz Ikejima Four Fretless BassThis week we’re looking at the Ikejima Four Fretless by Kriz Lenz. The first of the new “Ikejima” design series, the bass features simple materials used in a beautiful way.

“Inspired by a surf spot on Ikeijima island in Okinawa Japan, it features a unique single cutaway design with a wave shape and signature headstock. The body shape is handcrafted to give it its individual look & feel.”

Lenz built the bass with a two-piece swamp ash body, maple neck, and Blackwood fingerboard. The pickups are a pair of Aguilar 60’s Jazz models matched to Aguilar tone controls. Hardware includes Hipshot tuners and a Sandberg bridge. Lenz put the final touch on it with a natural and environmentally sustainable oil and wax finish.
