Maarten Plukker: River People
No Treble reader Maarten Plukker sent us a video of him taking on the funky Jaco Pastorius tune, “River People”.
“Though most bass players would cover songs as ‘Continuum’, ‘Donna Lee’, ‘Teen Town’, or ‘Portrait of Tracy’, I believe this is one of Jaco’s more underrated bass lines and a real gem in Weather Report’s repertoire,” he said to us.
He added this in the video description: “One of the hardest songs I’ve ever played, so I split it into two parts. This part goes until the F7 part. The only way I could play this was while standing, enjoy!”
