EBG Instruments Introduces the “Devon” Bass

EBG Instruments has introduced a new bass model called the Devon, which they describe as a “skelective, modern and unique design.” Featuring a multi-scale neck, the bass is constructed with mixed materials, including a carbon and actionwood (birch) body, a full carbon neck, and a Richlite fingerboard. The scale difference from the first string to the fifth string is only an inch.
“The special thing about the light multiscale fret is the easy transition from a standard fret to this light multiscale fret,” EBG writes. “Thus, the bass player does not have to change when changing instruments. And yet it has the advantages of a long scale length of 35″, which transports all deep tones tightly and with an incredible amount of growl and low end.”
The fretboard has 24 jumbo frets and also features a compound radius from 12″ to 16″ for playing comfort. EBG fits the Devon with a set of FIshman Fluence soapbar pickups and active electronics. Other features include an anti-scratch matte finish, Luminlay side dots and 12th fret inlay, a zero fret, and Schaller Security locks.
The EBG Instruments Devon is available now. It can be ordered with a host of options, but a base price point starts at approximately $5,365.
