KCB Collective, with Scott Colley, Release “Perspective”

KCB Collective: PerspectiveBenjamin Koppel, Scott Colley, and Brian Blade formed the KCB Collective ten years ago to write and improvise their own compositions. Each trio member is known as a world-class jazz musician, and their new album Perspective solidifies that fact while showing their range.

The album features their dynamic interplay across nine compositions that range from jazz ballads to more rock-influenced sub-genres.

“Blade’s creativity blends perfectly with Colley’s strong improvisations and Koppel’s lyrical sax and the works are tied together by three virtuosos who have taken interplay and collective musical dialogue to a new level,” a press release aptly states.

Colley contributed three original songs to Perspective with “Precipice,” “37.33 Seconds,” and “Don’t Rise.” Take a listen to “Don’t Rise,” which begins with some beautiful bass work.

Perspective is out now on CD, vinyl, and digital download (iTunes and Amazon MP3).
