Bass of the Week: Ritter Instruments “Sound of the Deep” R8-Singlecut Concept

Ritter Instruments Sound of the Deep R8-Singlecut Concept Bass

Jens Ritter just wrapped up exhibiting at Guitar Summit 2024 in Mannheim, Germany, where he showed off some spectacular instruments. One bass that caught our eye is an R8-Singlecut Concept model dubbed the “Sound of the Deep.”

The sleek instrument centers around its black acrylic glass fretless fingerboard, decorated with a custom Deep Sea inlay design featuring sharks, stingrays, sea turtles, and more. Ritter sets the scene further by finishing its alder body in a Deep Sea blue.

As with the R8 Concept model, the bass is fitted with an RMC Piezo pickup with a Ritter 4-band EQ accessible on the instrument’s backside. Other features include a maple neck with a frosted transparent finish, a 35-inch scale, and a weight of 8.8 pounds.
