Dunable Guitars Announces Jeff Matz JM5 Signature Bass

Dunable Guitars has collaborated with High on Fire bassist Jeff Matz once again for a new version of his signature bass. The JM5 is the fifth bass in the series and offers further refinements to the design.
“We combined my favorite elements from the previous 4 versions of my JM signature basses, and made a few new aesthetic and functional updates,” Matz wrote on Facebook. “This bass features my preferred 34-inch scale length, a black limba body with German carve and updated ‘JM’ body shape with enhanced upper fret access, wenge neck with ebony board and matching black limba head cap, super smooth oil finish, Hipshot hardware, and the simplicity of a single D-Split “P” style pickup, 1 volume and 1 tone.”
Matz, who worked with Sacha Dunable to create the company’s first bass ten years ago, got to test the new bass at a soundcheck in Santa Ana, California. He reports that it balanced perfectly and “punched through the mix with authority.”
Dunable states that the JM5 is available in limited quantities for $3,250.
