From Aerosmith to Close Enemies: Tom Hamilton’s New Band Announces Debut Single and Tour Dates

Back in October, Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton announced the first gig with his new band, Close Enemies. Now they’ve shared the news that they’ve signed with TLG/ROCK for label services and that their debut single, “Sound of a Train,” will be out on January 17th with distribution by Virgin Music Group.
“We’re really excited to be working with TLG/Virgin on the release of the CLOSE ENEMIES record!” Hamilton stated. “They’re genuinely as excited about putting it out as we are! Can’t wait to see what happens!”
Hamilton is able to focus on Close Enemies since Aerosmith’s farewell tour was canceled. The band includes his bass tech, Trace Foster, on guitar and Peter Stroud (Sheryl Crow), Tony Brock (Rod Stewart), Gary Stier, and Chasen Hampton.
While we have to wait to hear the new music, fans can see Hamilton and crew live during a January tour. They’ll play six of the City Winery locations and a night at the Rex Theatre in New Hampshire and Daryl’s House in Pawling, New York.
In a new interview with Ultimate Classic Rock, Hamilton said the upcoming shows are like his early days of touring.
“This is like going back to the beginning,” he says. “You know, we don’t have any previous albums. We’re going to be riding around in vans, probably and flying commercial, just like when Aerosmith started — and I’m looking forward to that. There’s a certain camaraderie with that.”
