Bass Godz Unite: Christian de Mesones Drops “Throb!” Remix with Bill Dickens, Andrew Gouche & More

Christian de Mesones: "Throb!" - Bass Godz Remix

Christian de Mesones, aka Big New York, has always been a bass fanatic. Growing up in the 70s, his heroes were pioneers like Jaco Pastorius and Stanley Clarke. The songs “School Days” and “Teen Town” were major inspirations for him and his peers. Now, de Mesones wants to inspire younger players in the same way.

“Throb! (Bass Godz Remix)” is a new single that reimagines his original song from the album They Call Me Big New York with an insane bass roster. The Bass Godz Remix features de Mesones on four and six-string basses alongside Bill Dickens, Brendan Rothwell, Andrew Gouche, and Vail Johnson.

“This Bass Fellowship is very personal to me,” de Mesones states. “I consider these featured artists to be friends and mentors. I’m constantly looking to collaborate in an effort to create something fresh, unique, and memorable, so why not do it with my friends and the people I admire? And I definitely believe I achieved my goal with this song.”

Each bassist is featured as they trade licks and solos to bring out their own unique sound and style. Give it a listen below.

“Throb! (Bass Godz Mix)” is streaming now on Apple Music, Amazon Music, and other digital platforms.
