A Tribute to 30 Years: Vintage’s Limited Edition VJ74 Bass Arrives in British Racing Green

JHS is celebrating two milestones this year: their own 60th anniversary and the 30th anniversary of their Vintage Guitar brand. They’re marking the occasion with a limited edition run of Anniversary instruments, including the Vintage 30th Anniversary Limited Edition VJ74 bass.
“Available from May 2025, all 30th Anniversary limited edition guitars and basses are based on classic models from the popular Vintage ReIssued & Icon Series, and individually created by hand, featuring custom finishes, quality tonewoods and a combination of time-tested hardware and pickups from world renowned guitar designers and hardware specialists, Trev Wilkinson and Alan Entwistle,” JHS shares.
The Anniversary edition of the VJ74 bass comes in a high gloss British Racing Green finish with a cream pearl pickguard. Its maple neck and fingerboard has 22 frets with block inlays and black binding.
“A pair of Entwistle JBX90 full range pickups with neodymium magnets and CTS pots are the perfect choice to enhance the balanced frequencies of the USA alder body, delivering depth, warmth and clarity for a versatile bass guitar that’s perfect for all musical genres,” the company writes.
Other features include open-geared Wilkinson tuners, a friction-free Graph Tech nut, and a Wilkinson compensated brass bridge. The Vintage 30th Anniversary Limited Edition VJ74 bass will ship with a deluxe padded gig bag embossed with a Vintage 30th Anniversary motif. It will be shipping in May with a price point of around $583.
