Roger Waters’ “This Is Not A Drill” Concert Film Hits Theaters This July with Pink Floyd Classics

In 2020, Roger Waters announced a massive tour called “This Is Not A Drill.” The pandemic forced him to reschedule it for 2022 and 2023, but now fans will get to relive the magic again. The former Pink Floyd bassist and songwriter has just announced a new concert film and live album entitled This Is Not a Drill – Live from Prague. The movie will show the enormity of the tour’s stage show in theaters worldwide on July 23rd and 27th, with home releases following on August 1st.
Waters and his band performed over 20 songs from his catalog, including Pink Floyd hits like “Comfortably Numb,” “Money,” “Wish You Were Here,” and more. While Waters is best known for his bass playing in Pink Floyd, his current shows feature him switching between bass, guitar, and piano. Gus Seyffert is his main bassist and performed for the majority of “This Is Not A Drill.” He also recorded and produced on Waters’ latest releases, The Lockdown Sessions and Dark Side of the Moon Redux.
“Dedicated to ‘our brothers and sisters all over the world who are engaged in the existential battle for the soul of humanity,’ the movie is an extraordinary assault on the senses, not just musically and visually, but politically and philosophically as well,” the film’s synopsis explains. “It captures performances of songs from some of the most influential albums of all time – The Dark Side Of The Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals and The Wall, together with those from the most popular of Waters’ solo career, including Amused To Death and Is This The Life We Really Want? Brought together with his band and crew, the show is majestic, with performances that are powerful yet controlled.”
In announcing the film and album, they dropped a video for the live version of “Wish You Were Here.”
This Is Not a Drill – Live from Prague is available for pre-order on DVD, Blu-Ray, CD, vinyl and as a digital download (Apple Music, and Amazon Music). You can sign up to get film showing updates on Roger Waters’ website.
