Tré Raeford’s Lakland Tone Cuts Through with Kevin Powell & Band at the Nord Booth at NAMM 2025

If you were anywhere near the Nord booth at NAMM this year, you probably heard it before you saw it. Kevin Powell and his band threw down a killer set, and bassist Tré Raeford was right in the middle of it, holding things down with his Lakland.

The band was dialed in with Powell on the Nord Organ 3, Zyyayre Williams on guitar, Billy Powell on drums, and Tré’s tone cutting through in all the right ways. Fat, warm, locked in. No flash, just feel.

It’s always cool to see a bass player make the most of a live trade show set like this. Tré’s groove gave the whole thing glue, and that Lakland tone didn’t hurt either.
