Third Man and Black Mountain Unveil the Roto-Echo Delay Pedal with Foot-Controlled Freewheel

Third Man Hardware and Black Mountain have teamed up to create the Roto-Echo, a delay pedal with some innovative controls. In addition to standard stompbox knobs, the pedal has Freewheel Technology to let players adjust parameters on the fly with their feet.
It has three controls – Time, Feedback, and Blend – that each have a traditional control knob. A switch allows you to assign which parameter is affected by the Freewheel. Although the demo is on guitar, you can get a feel for the Roto-Echo’s breadth in the company’s demo video:
At its core, the Roto-Echo is an analog-style delay with up to 600ms of delay. Other features include a rugged housing, true bypass switching, and 9-volt center negative power.
The Third Man/Black Mountain Roto-Echo is available now through Third Man and Reverb, which also has a limited edition yellow pedal. It has a street price of $279.
