Cory Henry Turns SFJAZZ into a Groove Sanctuary with Just Got Paid

Cory Henry and the Funk Apostles just dropped a monster performance of “Just Got Paid” from the stage at SFJAZZ. The groove is thick, the energy is high, and the pocket is undeniable.

On bass, Josh Easley lays it down with his Performance 5-string through a Gallien Krueger rig. His sound is fat and supportive, locking the band together while leaving plenty of room for Cory’s keys and the rhythm section to breathe. Every note is right in the pocket, giving the tune that heavy low end it needs.

This one is all about groove, feel, and musicians at the top of their game. Turn it up and let it hit.
