Source Audio Unveils Encounter Ambient Delay & Reverb Pedal for Otherworldly Soundscapes

Source Audio has announced the Encounter, an ambient delay and reverb pedal that they call a “gateway to otherworldly soundscapes.” The dual-engine effects pedal has dual processing, allowing you to combine any two of the Encounter’s six delay and six reverb effects. Source Audio says the pedal follows up on their previous delay/reverb unit, Collider, by being more adventurous.
“Where the Collider focused on classic delay and reverb effects, Encounter ventures into uncharted tonal territory, delivering new, otherworldly effects for guitar, bass, synth, and adventurous sound designers of all kinds,” they write.
The delay and reverb effects can be used individually or in pairs, including dual delay or dual reverb setups. They can be routed in series, parallel, or split stereo, all with two independent footswitches. “Stereo ins and outs, full MIDI implementation, 8 onboard preset slots (128 presets with MIDI), external expression control, and seamless integration with Source Audio’s free Neuro 3 editing software for iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows further elevate the pedal’s flexibility and creative potential,” Source Audio shares.
Although it’s mostly on guitar, you can get an idea of the Encounter’s capabilities in the official Source Audio demo:
The Source Audio Encounter is available now for $399.
