Bass of the Week: Oroboro Guitars’ Cobra 4 Blends Celluloid Craftsmanship With a Modern V Design

This week, we’re checking out the Oroboro Guitars Cobra 4 Bass Guitar, a cool and unique take on the V shape. The body is constructed from maple and poplar burl. It also features blue celluloid, one of the company’s specialties.
“At Oroboro Guitars, we understand the importance of individuality and self-expression in music,” the company writes. “Precisely for this reason, we offer the possibility to customize your guitars and basses using the precious celluloid material. Celluloid is known for its beauty and versatility, allowing you to create a unique design that fits perfectly with your style and personality.”
Its combination of matte white and natural finishes adds beautiful contrasts to the celluloid. The seven-piece neck is topped with an ebony fingerboard adorned with white resin and blue celluloid to match the aesthetic.
Oroboro fits the Cobra 4 with three Lace Aluma Bass Bar pickups. Each has its own volume pot, while a three-way switch lets you toggle which pickup you’re selecting. Other cool features include a headless design, a multi-scale neck, and a “D” neck profile.
