Motörhead Celebrate Lemmy’s 80th With “The Löst Tapes, Vol. 7”: His 50th Birthday Show Released

Lemmy Kilmister with Lost Tapes 7 Album Cover

Motörhead added a very special edition to “The Lӧst Tapes” series this Christmas. December 24th, 2025 would have marked the late Lemmy Kilmister‘s 80th birthday, and to celebrate, they released the audio and video from his 50th birthday party in 1995.

The set, held at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, kicks off with the hit “Ace of Spades” as the band tears through hit after hit. Ugly Kid Joe vocalist Whitfield Crane jumps up to sing the chorus of “Born to Raise Hell,” but otherwise the party was just Lemmy, Mikkey Dee, and Phil Campbell doing what they do best. (Metallica had opened the show as The Lemmys.)

Check out “Stay Clean” featuring Lemmy’s iconic bass solo:

Lemmy passed away on December 28th, 2015. That makes this anniversary even more meaningful as its been a full decade since we lost one of the biggest rock stars in history.
