Stuart Clayton published a great new bass line tutorial video and transcription featuring a true legend of bass. Check out his tutorial on Larry Graham’s line on the Sly & The Family Stone tune, “Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin).”

Our good friends Magnus Sjöquist and Ariane Cap put together this cool video featuring a U-Bass duo. In this clip, they perform a cool arrangement of U2’s “With or Without You,” with some great solos along the way.

Antonio D’Amato sent us this fun video of him with a few friends covering the Fearless Flyers tune, “Introducing the Fearless Flyers.” The bassist nails Joe Dart’s part, right down to the sunglasses.

Dirty Loops is back with a new video and a new tune. “Rock You” once again features the trio of keyboardist/vocalist Jonah Nilsson, bassist Henrik Linder, and drummer Aron Mellergård, who are joined by other musicians on the track.

Whenever I see a new video by Cory Henry and the Funk Apostles hit, I stop what I’m doing to check it out - especially to hear what Sharay Reed does on the tune. Here’s their performance of “In The Water.”

This video features two bassists: Jackie Clark and MonoNeon. However, the other person in the video is the one playing bass. And that person is the guitar legend Eric Gales! Check out their epic tribute to Prince.

When Leland Sklar kicked off his new Youtube series late last month, we shared the first one. At the time, I hoped he would eventually get to “Stratus.” Good news: Two days ago, Lee did just that, with a great playalong and great story.

Tedeschi Trucks Band recently shared this never-before-seen bonus video from the “Live From The Fox Oakland” concert. Filmed while Tim Lefebvre was still in the group, here’s an excellent clip of the band performing John Prine’s “Angel From Montgomery.”

Episode 4 of the Sanborn Sessions dropped this week, with a new line up. This clip offers a great mix of conversation between David Sanborn and Terrace Martin on their musical influences, and a performance by the group (with Luques Curtis on bass).

I’ve always loved the videos many artists have shared with the Metropole Orkest. Here’s another great one, with Cory Wong performing a cool take on the tune, “Gumshü,” with the orchestra (including 3 bassists.)

During this year’s NAMM Show, I had a great chat with Gabriel Severn and his dad. His dad said that at a very early age, Gabriel was super interested in the music of Jaco Pastorius. So it wasn’t a surprise when his mom sent me this video of Gabriel performing “Donna Lee.”

Adam Ben Ezra is offering a bit of cheer in this new video, with his take on Bobby McFerrin’s tune, “Don’t Worry, Be Happy.” Or as Adam said, “Don’t worry, be healthy.”
