Multi-instrumentalist and musical genius Jacob Collier has completed his Djesse album series with the newly-released “Djesse Vol. 4.” The star-studded record covers an enormous amount of musical ground with jazz, pop, latin, and even some heavy metal.

Virtuoso multi-instrumentalist Jacob Collier is gearing up to release his highly anticipated album, “Djesse Vol. 4,” on February 29th and now he’s unveiled a tour in support of it. Collier’s touring band features the formidable Robin Mullarkey on bass.

NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert usually forces the band to reduce their format to create a more intimate performance. Music whiz Jacob Collier didn’t exactly take that route, though it’s one of my favorite performances from the series.

We’re used to featuring videos with multi-instrumentalist Jacob Collier playing bass (among other things). In this video, Jacob turned to Robin Mullarkey to put together one funky version of The Beatles’ “Eleanor Rigby.” The session took place at Maida Vale for BBC Introducing, and also includes drummer James Maddren.
