Vulfpeck: Grandma
Vulfpeck has just released their video for the tune, “Grandma,” which appears on their album, . The song offers up some silky smooth old school goodness, thanks in part to Joe Dart.
Vulfpeck: Business Casual
I received Vulfpeck’s Mr Finish Line on vinyl recently, and I’ve been spinning it ever since. Here’s the most recent video release for the track, “Business Casual.” I love the vocals on this one, and as always, the bass playing of Joe Dart.
Vulfpeck: Dean Town (Live)
Vulfpeck’s “Dean Town” is one of the all-time favorites around here. So it was super cool to see the band share this live performance of the tune, which took place during the “Wisdom of Crowds Tour 2017” in Dublin, Ireland. I was also super impressed with the audience, who pretty much sang it note for note and kept up with...
2017 Reader Favorites – #1: Joe Dart
Outside of his incredible bass playing, no one knew much about Joe Dart. That changed in August when he sat down with Mitch to record episode #32 of Groove – the No Treble podcast. (That episode was the most popular of 2017 too.) And as always, Vulfpeck shared a healthy dose of videos over the year featuring Dart’s solid grooves....
Vulfpeck: Running Away
I’m anxiously awaiting the new Vulfpeck record, Mr. Finish Line, which goes into production tomorrow. Thankfully, the band has offered up some of the music from the upcoming release, including this old school cool track, “Running Away.” Dig the sweet lines by bassist Joe Dart and the incredible David T. Walker.
Vulfpeck: Hero Town
To say I’m pumped about the upcoming Vulfpeck album would be an understatement. The band has released another video featuring a song from Mr. Finish Line, entitled “Hero Town.” Michael Bland guests (masterfully) on drums, with Joe Dart handling the bass, as always. The album is available for pre-order from Vulfpeck’s website.
Vulfpeck: Birds of a Feather, We Rock Together
Vulfpeck has announced their 2017 album, Mr Finish Line and released the first track from the upcoming release. Joe Dart lays down a groovy line behind this mellow tune, which also appears to feature Jack Stratton on the pancakes. For more on the album (and how to get it), check out Vulfpeck’s website..
Vulfpeck with Bernard Purdie: Kid Charlemagne
This must be what living the dream looks like. Vulfpeck performed with drum legend Bernard Purdie at the Brooklyn Bowl in New York last year, which included this cover of Steely Dan’s “Kid Charlemagne,” a tune that originally featured Purdie. And it is obvious bassist Joe Dart was loving life.
Vulfpeck: Live at Red Rocks
This is a longer video than we normally share, but hey, it’s Saturday… and it’s Vulfpeck and Joe Dart. Vulfpeck joined Trey Anastasio Band at Red Rocks back in May. Thankfully, they filmed it. Here’s the set list: Fugue State Cory Wong El Chepe Outro Rango with Trey Anastasio 1612 Aunt Leslie Funky Duck Wait For The Moment FFFF Back...
Groove – Episode #32: Joe Dart
Let’s just call it a “mutual admiration society.” Vulfpeck bassist, Joe Dart, has always been very kind to the No Treble community. And all of us – here at No Treble – can’t get enough of his funky grooves that often dominate and lead the band’s music. In short: we’re huge fans of how this University of Michigan project has...
Vulfpeck: Cory Wong
What better way to end a week than with some funky goodness from Vulfpeck? Joe Dart gets down on this one. And “Woody smiles. A common reaction to a great bass fill.”
Vulfpeck: Animal Spirits
Vulfpeck has released another video from their most recent album, The Beautiful Game. The track is “Animal Spirits,” with Theo Katzman “singing in a high voice,” and Joe Dart laying down the funky low end.
