Whether he’s in a duo with Edgar Meyer or leading his big band, Christian McBride always keeps good company. Now the bass icon has unveiled a set of tour dates with a brand new band.

Phish is back at it this year with a healthy tour schedule. The band, anchored by bass great Mike Gordon, will get things rolling in April and keep it going through September. The new dates include a four-night residency at Madison Square Garden.

Some collaborations seem to be a forced effort, but the pairing of the Khruangbin with Leon Bridges fits like a glove. Their first project together was 2020’s “Texas Sun”, and they’ve just followed it up with a second EP called “Texas Moon”.

Craig Schoedler has returned with a new solo album entitled “Bass Legacy”. The bassist and bandleader digs into a contemporary jazz sound for the effort with his six-string Warwick, which also graces the album’s cover.

Victor Wooten, Steve Bailey, and Gregg Bissonette have added a second leg to their upcoming Bass Extremes tour. The second round of dates will focus on the East Coast with performances from Georgia up to Massachusetts.

The Aristocrats have announced the “Defrost” tour, which will take the trio across North America with 50 performances. Guthrie Govan, Bryan Beller, and Marco Minnemann will be on the road for 10 weeks across the U.S and Canada.

Pianist Ethan Iverson has released a new trio album. “Every Note Is True” is his debut on the Blue Note label, and for the occasion, he tapped the masterful rhythm section of Jack DeJohnette and Larry Grenadier.

The Who has revealed a new North American tour called “The Who Hits Back!” that will run this spring. Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend will continue to be joined by bassist Jon Button, who fills the big shoes of the late John Entwistle.
