Jerry Jemmott, aka “The Groove Master” is holding a half-day workshop at the Alys Robinson Stephens Performing Arts Center at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. The workshop will be held on February 21 at 1 p.m. and is open to all musicians.
Jemmott is one of the most recorded and influential bassists of all time, having recorded with B.B. King (“The Thrill is Gone”), Aretha Franklin (“Think”), and many many other legends. Jemmott is currently on tour with the Gregg Allman Band.
Even Jaco Pastorius credited Jemmott as a big influence, and the two were paired up for Jaco’s instructional video, Modern Electric Bass.
