John Entwistle Band: Young Man Blues

Today we celebrate the life and music of John Entwistle, on his birthday. The Ox was a huge figure in the development of the bass guitar and is referred to as the greatest who ever lived. His classic bass lines for The Who inspired thousands to pick up the bass to emulate that huge signature tone.

After The Who broke up, Entwistle kept making music with his own band. Here’s a fantastic performance of “Young Man Blues” from Woodstock ‘99, just three years before his death.

In his time with No Treble, Kevin has met hundreds of amazing bassists and interviewed icons like Jack Casady, Victor Wooten, Les Claypool, Marcus Miller, and more. He's a gigging bassist performing jazz in Northern Virginia and bluegrass with The Plate Scrapers up and down the East Coast. Kevin appreciates all genres of music, from R&B to metal and everything in between. Connect with Kevin on Facebook and check his performance schedule on his website.
