Ish Announces “Strap-On” Disposable Strap Locks

Ish Strap-On Strap Lock on BassIsh has shared details on a new disposable strap lock they’ve developed named Strap-On. The simple design is made to work with nearly every strap and strap button combination for both bass and guitar.

The Strap-On itself is a hard plastic washer that’s placed over top of your strap when it’s on your bass. They can be mounted and unmounted quickly and swapped between instruments.

The Ish Strap-On disposable strap lock is available for preorder. A single set costs $1, while a 30-pack costs $15. For more info, check out Ish’s website.

  1. or just take the red rubber washers off of Grolsch beer bottles. more fun!

  2. Just buy good strap locks once and be done – forever. Disposable is BS.

  3. Been doing the Grolsch thing for years now. Cool but not new

  4. I’ve been doing this for years with black rubber washers from the hardware store, and they are very durable.

  5. Grolsch bottles indeed, some olive-oil 2

  6. I used to make them, years ago, out of plastic bucket lids. I would cut out circles about the size of a quarter and cut a slit in the center big enough to slip over the button. They would’t last very long. Removing them more than once or twice would break them, but they worked well enough until I got some real strap locks.

  7. I dunno – I think it’s a bit of a solution looking for a problem. I gigged for 30 yrs on a variety of guitars/basses and never once needed a strap-lock – and players who do use rubber washers they buy from the hardware store. This might be an impulse purchase at the counter of your local music store, but I doubt it’ll ever become a staple for players.

  8. These are exactly like the Fender ones and they are worthless. They pop off with a slight tug of the strap. I would never trust my guitar with these.
