Phil Jones Bass has unveiled two new additions to their line up with the D-1000 bass amp and the C9 bass speaker cabinet. Each builds upon their predecessors with more power and portability.
The D-1000 is rated at 1,000 watts while weighing in at just 5.3 pounds. Housed in an anodized black aluminum chassis, the design is described as high-efficiency and runs cool without a fan. It has a five-band EQ as well as a limiter for dialing in your tone. Other features include an auxiliary input with level control, a headphone output, a mute switch, a preamp output, and an effects loop.
The C9 is a bass cab that’s loaded with nine 5-inch loudspeakers. “[The C9] introduces PJB’s latest in driver technology, the Chrome Dome 5A,” the company writes. “This compact cabinet is built to handle 900 watts of PJB power and is built to perform in any playing situation.” The cab is built from Baltic birch plywood with heavy chromed metal corners, wheels with double roller bearings, and a Tolex covering.
The Phil Jones Bass D-1000 and C9 are expected to ship in August with prices of $1,499 and $1,199, respectively.
