Bass of the Week: Adal Guitars Black Beauty

When we last checked in with Adal Guitars, they shared their Lobella Series 5-string bass featuring some highly figured top wood. This time they shared the Black Beauty, a bass with a simpler yet timeless look.
The bass is crafted with a Paraíso body finished in matte black. Adal contrasts the dark body with a roasted flamed maple fingerboard and neck, which ties back to the dark aesthetic with black dot inlays and DR Black Beauty strings.
The pickups are a pair of Adal’s FSD humbuckers, which they manufacture themselves. Those are then fed into a Nordstrand 3B-4b preamp. Finally, Adal utilized Hipshot hardware to bring it all together.

Really nice looking IMO, but too many toggles/switches for me. Also a bit heavy for a 4-stringer at 9lbs…
