Mo Foster’s Legacy: The Documentary That Honors a Bass Legend’s Life, Now Streaming

After premiering in October, a new documentary on session legend Mo Foster is available to the public. Four Strings Good features a live concert celebrating the life and music of Foster, who died in 2023.
“Released today in honor of what would have been Mo Foster’s birthday, this feature documentary celebrates the extraordinary career of one of the UK’s most celebrated session musicians,” a press release explains. “With performances and interviews from the artists who worked closely with Mo, Four Strings Good is a heartfelt tribute to the man whose bass lines helped define an era of music.”
Foster was the backbone of many sessions for artists like Jeff Beck, Gil Evans, Phil Collins, Gerry Rafferty, Gary Moore, and more. He was a cornerstone of London’s music scene in the 70’s and 80’s. Four Strings Good has interview clips with him as well as performances by Ray Russell, Simon Phillips, Tony Hymas, Judie Tzuke, Deborah Bonham, Jimmy Helms, Kim Goody, Moon Williams, and Phil Hilborne.
Four Strings Good is available to stream through Vimeo for $6.
