Bassist Sam Grisman Leads Project on 2025 Tour With Bluegrass, Folk, and Grateful Dead Songs

Sam Grisman Project is hitting the road with a final set of dates for 2025. The bassist-led band of road warriors will perform songs from their own catalog, as well as selections from the Grateful Dead songbook and bluegrass repertoire.
The group will begin in San Francisco, California at the Camp Winnarainbow Benefit Concert before appearing at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival. From there, they’ll fly across the country to cover the Southeast before heading up into New England. After a run through the Midwest, they’ll wind up in Colorado to kick off 2026.
Sam Grisman, who plays double bass and sings, is the son of mandolin great David Grisman. As such, his style brings in elements of bluegrass, folk, jam, and more. Check out his band’s grooves in this set from Portland.
